Eight teams remain in the 2026 MLB playoffs as the Division Series open on Saturday. The Yankees, who took down the Red Sox in the Wild Card Series, will face the No. 1-seeded Rays, while the White Sox move on after sweeping the Astros to face their own division rivals, the Guardians. In the National League, the Braves fended off the Phillies and now square up against the two-time reigning champion Dodgers, and the Padres, who swept the Cubs, get the 103-win Brewers.
The Rays, Guardians, Brewers and Dodgers all secured byes to the LDS round. The Rays are the American League's top seed and will face the Yankees in the ALDS. The Guardians, despite an 85-77 record that ranks 10th out of the 12 playoff teams, earned the No. 2 seed in the AL and will face the 84-win White Sox in the next round.
