He said that the team has begun to sponsor some young drivers to train in Europe, and will increase the proportion of funding next year, hoping to cultivate a Chinese world champion in 5 to 10 years.
On September 12, the 2026 World Motocross Championship (MXGP) was held in Shanghai, China at the Gulf Outdoor Sports Stadium. Zhang Xue, the founder of "Zhang Xue Motorcycle", appeared on the field to support his son Zhang Qingtian who was participating in the 85CC group event.
Although "Zhang Xue Motorcycle" did not compete in MXGP this year, Zhang Xue's son Zhang Qingtian appeared in the 85CC youth group. Zhang Xue previously released a video saying that "Zhang Xue Motorcycle" was originally planned to participate in the 2026 MXGP China Shanghai Station, but due to insufficient preparations, it will be changed to 2027.
MXGP and the World Superbike Championship (WSBK), where "Zhang Xue Motorcycles" has achieved many successes this year, both belong to the world championship level of the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM), but the track genes are completely different: MXGP is the highest palace of the off-road motorcycle industry, while WSBK is the highest verification venue for the performance of mass-produced road motorcycles.
Zhang Xue pointed out that there are completely different technical barriers between WSBK and MXGP. "We are currently testing and improving. Next year will be our official first year of competition, and it is too early to talk about planning. The first step is to let the car participate in the competition, and then discover the problems during the competition. If the problem is already known, we will improve it before the competition."
Before the race, Zhang Xue gave her son advice from time to time and helped him organize his clothes. Before setting off, he picked up the tools and personally adjusted his son's motorcycle.
Regarding his son's performance that day, Zhang Xue said: "Whether he is competing or studying, I have very low requirements. For example, if he scores 60 points in the exam, I feel very good." He also admitted that Zhang Qingtian usually trains too little. In motorcycle racing, in addition to having good skills, he must also be strong enough, "but safety is still the first priority."
Zhang Qingtian, who started getting into motorcycles at the age of 5, said before the game that his idol is his father. After hearing her son give herself 100 points, Zhang Xue said frankly that "it's quite stressful." At present, Zhang Xue has plans for Zhang Qingtian's next step.
