2026-YKS additional placement results have been announced

Additional placement results of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (2026-YKS) have been announced by the Measurement, Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).

According to the announcement on ÖSYM's website, according to the 2026-YKS results, additional placement procedures for higher education programs have been completed for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Candidates can submit their additional placement results via ÖSYM's "https://sonuc.osym.gov.tr" address. will be able to access with their ID number and candidate password. Additionally, the placement result document will not be printed and will not be sent to the candidates' addresses.

Registration of candidates who have the right to enroll in a program according to the 2026-YKS additional placement results can be made on October 2-9, and electronic registrations can be made on October 2-4.

For registration, candidates must apply within the deadline to the university affiliated with the higher education program they are placed in. Candidates who register electronically will process according to the date and relevant documents announced by their universities.

PRIVATE UNIVERSITIES REMAIN EMPTY

ÖSYM also shared data on additional placement results.

Accordingly, approximately 75 percent of the quotas opened in private universities remained vacant.

According to the data, a total of 100 thousand 738 quotas were opened for additional placement.

Of this, 34,177 quotas were allocated to public universities, 57,226 to private universities, and the remaining 9,335 quotas were allocated to universities in Northern Cyprus and other countries.

While 28,367 of the quotas of state universities were filled, only 5,810 remained vacant. 79.6 percent of the quota has been filled.

A remarkable picture emerged in private universities.

Only 14 thousand 726 of 57 thousand 226 quotas were filled. 74.7 percent of the quota was not filled. The situation has not changed when we look at the total quota allocated before additional placement. 42 thousand 466 of the 176 thousand 80 quotas allocated to private universities remained vacant.
