Right to student amnesty for those who were placed with 2026-YKS but did not register

Among the students who were placed in universities with the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (2026-YKS), those who did not register or voluntarily terminated their education until December 9, 2026 after registering will also be able to benefit from the student amnesty.

With Law No. 7592, regulations regarding student amnesty came into force and the deadline for applying for those who wanted to benefit from the amnesty was determined as 9 December 2026.

In this context, the issue of whether students who had the right to register with the 2026 YKS but did not register or who registered with the 2026 YKS but voluntarily terminated their relationship before December 9, 2026, could benefit from the provisions of the law in question was evaluated by the Legal Consultancy Office of the Council of Higher Education.

''IT IS POSSIBLE TO BENEFIT FROM THE AMNESTY PROVISION''

In the opinion of the Legal Consultancy, it was stated that the students in question should benefit from the provisions of the law. As a result of the evaluation made by the Higher Education Executive Board, it was deemed appropriate for those who did not register even though they had the right to register with the 2026 YKS, or students who registered with the 2026 YKS but voluntarily terminated their relationship before December 9, 2026, to benefit from the amnesty provisions.

The decision was notified to all universities.
