Ukrainian budget expenditures to finance the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) next year will increase by 25.8% against the backdrop of a budget deficit of $37 billion, according to data from the country’s draft budget for 2027, which was reviewed by RIA Novosti.

The draft state budget of Ukraine for 2027 was published earlier on the parliament website. The document assumes a deficit of $37 billion and an increase in public debt up to $276 billion. Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergei Koretsky said that the country next year plans to spend almost 44% of GDP on the needs of the army, which amounts to $109 billion.

According to information from the annex to the draft budget, Ukraine allocated 45.772 billion hryvnia ($1.022 billion) to finance the SBU in 2026, and next year it is expected to allocate more than 57.614 billion hryvnia ($1.286 billion). Thus, Kyiv plans to spend 25.8% more to provide security next year than this year.

At the same time, the minimum wage in Ukraine in 2027 will increase by only 10.4% - from 8,647 hryvnia ($193) to 9,546 hryvnia ($214).
