Henan releases its first provincial regulations on spiritual genealogy, "Henan Province Regulations on Inheriting and Promoting the Spirit of the Red Flag Canal" will be implemented in 2027

China News Service, Zhengzhou, October 5th. The full text of the "Regulations of Henan Province on Inheriting and Promoting the Spirit of the Red Flag Canal" (hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations") was officially released on the 5th and will come into effect on January 1, 2027.

In the 1960s, people from Linzhou, Henan, built a 1,500-kilometer-long "artificial Tianhe" Red Flag Canal on the mountainside of China's Taihang Mountains, which was known as the "Great Water Wall of China" and "the eighth wonder of the world." The spirit of the Red Flag Canal was born in the arduous practice of building the Red Flag Canal.

The "Regulations" issued this time are the first provincial-level local regulations in Henan Province with the theme of "Spiritual Genealogy of Chinese Communists", providing a strong legal guarantee for the inheritance and promotion of the spirit of the Red Flag Canal. The "Regulations" clarify that its basic connotation is self-reliance, hard work, unity and cooperation, and selfless dedication.

There are 26 articles in the "Regulations", which clarify that the Henan Provincial Government should increase the support and guarantee for the inheritance and promotion of the Red Flag Canal spirit and the management and protection of the Red Flag Canal project, formulate special plans, improve the working mechanism, ensure necessary funds, and timely study and solve major issues in the inheritance and promotion of the Red Flag Canal spirit and the protection and management of the Red Flag Canal project.

At the same time, the "Regulations" support the creation of a red tourism brand with the Red Flag Canal as an important symbol, and vigorously develop red study, green ecological tourism and other business formats; encourage the development of red flag canal spiritual and cultural creative products, and expand new forms and new paths of popular communication and scene-based experience of the red flag canal spirit; encourage the use of modern information technologies such as the Internet, big data, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality to inherit and carry forward the red flag canal spirit, promote the integration of the red flag canal spirit into digital cultural life, and enhance the attraction and communication power of the red flag canal spirit.
