New Taipei City went to South Korea to attend the Crisis Management Network Conference and won the right to host it in 2027

Today, the New Taipei City Government led a team led by Fire Chief Chen Chongyue to Seoul, South Korea to attend the "2026 Crisis Management Conference (CMC)" international seminar, titled "New Taipei City Climate Resilience Strategic Blueprint", to share the 2024 Typhoon Typhoon Krathon) invasion, it demonstrated New Taipei City's preparedness and adaptability to complex disasters in terms of strategic preparation, crisis response, frontline command and community resilience in the face of extreme climate challenges. It received high attention and recognition from representatives from the 13 countries attending the conference. On behalf of Taiwan, Chen Chongyue took over the hosting rights of the 2027 Crisis Management Network Annual Conference, once again demonstrating the achievements of disaster prevention diplomacy.

New Taipei City has actively participated in the Asian Crisis Management Network (Network for Crisis Management, Since 2018, he has participated in the CMC annual conference as an observer and has participated in international exercises and seminars in Tokyo, Seoul and other places. With disaster relief practices and national search energy, he has become a member of 13 countries and 14 cities. He regularly holds international seminars, city exchanges and international rescue training every year to share the experience of various countries in disaster prevention, crisis management and rescue response. It not only deepens international cooperation and exchanges, but also enhances urban disaster response, rescue and crisis management capabilities.

This year’s Crisis Management Network Conference was held in Seoul, South Korea. New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi appointed Fire Chief Chen Chongyue, who is experienced in disaster relief command and has search and rescue tactics, search and rescue, and disaster response capabilities, to attend as a representative to share New Taipei City’s response practices in the face of extreme weather and major disasters, including Tokyo, Seoul, Influential international cities in Asia, such as Taipei City, Manila, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, have provided valuable experience in New Taipei City's proactive response to climate change in terms of disaster management, crisis response, cross-agency coordination, and smart cities when responding to disasters. The valuable experience has left a deep impression on various Asian disaster prevention members.

Chen Chongyue said that by participating in the Asian Crisis Management Network, in addition to deepening disaster prevention cooperation between New Taipei City and international cities, New Taipei City's practical experience in disaster response and urban resilience has gained international attention and recognition.

Due to its success in disaster prevention, New Taipei City has received support from member cities and won the right to host the 2027 Crisis Management Network Conference. Chen Chongyue said that New Taipei City has actively strived to join the CMC since 2018 and continues to participate in international disaster prevention exchanges. With the support of international partners again, it will take over the right to host the conference next year (2027), which shows its international recognition. The city highly recognizes New Taipei City's disaster prevention capabilities and international exchange results; New Taipei City will also use hosting the 2027 conference as an opportunity to continue to deepen international disaster prevention cooperation, connect disaster prevention experience and professional energy of various cities, and transform international exchange results into concrete actions to improve the city's resilience, and jointly create a safer, more resilient and livable city.
