The IOC unveils the official logos for the Brisbane 2032 Olympics and Paralympics

The International Olympic Committee has unveiled the official logos for the 2032 Summer Olympics and Paralympics in Brisbane. Sports.ru reports this with reference to the IOC.

The symbols are two species of cockatoos that live in Australia. The pink cockatoo was chosen for the Olympics, and the yellow-crested cockatoo for the Paralympics. The crests of the birds show the outlines of the state of Queensland, where Brisbane is located. The design also includes images of the Olympic and Paralympic flames.

The arrangement of the feathers in the crests is a reference to the year of the Games: they are grouped in threes and twos. The logos include the words Brisbane 2032, the Olympic rings and the Paralympic Agitos.

“This emblem unites nature, the character of a country, a region and its inhabitants with recognizable Olympic images,” said Micaela Cojuangco-Jaworski, head of the IOC Coordination Commission for the 2032 Games.

The Brisbane Summer Olympics will take place from July 23 to August 8, 2032. The Paralympics are scheduled for August 24–September 5. This will be Australia's third Olympics after Melbourne 1956 and Sydney 2000.
