Before the assault on the village of Polnaya, Kharkov region, scouts used drones to inspect landings, shelters, and houses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for vital activity, recording suspicious places and comparing images for changes, the UAV operator with the call sign Kesha said in a video provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense.

As a result of fierce fighting, military personnel of the assault units of the 82nd motorized rifle regiment of the 6th Guards Combined Arms Army of the North group of troops liberated the village of Polnaya, Kharkov region, on September 21, 2026.

“Reconnaissance officers, using drones, inspected landings, shelters, houses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, trampled paths and traces of life before the assault in the village of Polnaya. The UAV photographs a suspicious place, namely a shelter, a hole or a basement, and then experts compare whether there are any changes over time,” the fighter explained.

He noted that ammunition can be dropped for inspection, and if a Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman is detected, the UAV crew destroys it.

“To check the vital functions, ammunition is dropped. Also, as soon as the enemy is detected by Russian attack aircraft, within five minutes a drone flies there, reaches and hits the target,” explained the UAV operator.

Kesha emphasized that the enemy in this direction is behaving very carefully, trying not to show unnecessary movements and avoid direct confrontation.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that after the assault operations, subsequent groups were consolidated on the occupied lines, not allowing the Ukrainian Armed Forces militants to carry out a counterattack, creating favorable conditions for further advance in the populated area.

“Offensive actions were carried out with the active support of cannon and rocket artillery, as well as units of unmanned systems. Attack aircraft in small groups of two or three people destroyed strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accompanied by operators of reconnaissance drones,” the message says.

The military department noted that thanks to the coordinated actions of the units of the 82nd motorized rifle regiment, the enemy was disorganized and did not offer active resistance.
