The "Meet the Most Beautiful Hong Kong" Photography Contest Award Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Space Museum

The award ceremony and award-winning works exhibition of the "Meet the Most Beautiful Hong Kong" photography competition jointly organized by the Environmental Protection Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government and Hong Kong Takung Wenwei Media Group was held at the Hong Kong Space Museum on the 2nd.

The competition has four categories: primary school, secondary school, college and open. The gold medal in the primary school category was won by Huang Zijia's "Half the Sky"; the gold medal in the secondary school category was won by Zhou Hongan's "The Cave"; the gold medal in the college category was won by Zhang Gangfeng's "Buffalo and Accompanying Egret"; and the gold medal in the open category was won by Huang Shaoxin's "The Merciful Light Shines Over the Mountains, Seas and Worlds". The silver medals, bronze medals and merit awards for each group were also awarded one by one at the ceremony. Excellent works were exhibited on site, attracting many citizens to watch and witness the beauty of Hong Kong's ecology.

Acting Secretary for the Environment and Ecology Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Ms Wong Suk-han, said in her speech that this competition coincides with the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. This competition allows everyone to appreciate the beauty of Hong Kong from different perspectives and feel that Hong Kong and the mainland are connected by mountains, rivers and cultures. Hong Kong’s natural scenery, urban vitality and humanistic sentiments are an important part of the beautiful picture of the motherland. She called on the younger generation to continue to use cameras and actions to record beauty, cherish nature, and contribute to building a beautiful Hong Kong and a beautiful China.

Zheng Yongnan, vice chairman and general manager of Hong Kong Dagong Wenhui Media Group, said that Hong Kong has rich and diverse ecological resources. The competition uses the theme of "Harmonious Coexistence of Nature, City, and Humanity" in the hope that through the lens, more people can see the vitality of this city beyond the reinforced concrete. The competition paid special attention to the ecological integration of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Participants used their lenses to freeze the blue sea and blue sky of Dapeng Bay, and also recorded the solid steps of the entire Greater Bay Area on the road to green development.

This competition received a total of 1,150 entries, and a total of 638 were shortlisted. Participants include students from more than 70 institutions in Hong Kong and photography enthusiasts from all walks of life. (over)
