Slovak Prime Minister Fico said that the West's strategy to support Ukraine has failed

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico believes that the West's strategy of supporting Ukraine in order to put pressure on Russia has failed.

Fico argues that the war could have ended if the West had not banned Ukraine from signing an agreement with Russia in April 2022.

BRATISLAVA, September 5 - RIA Novosti. The West's strategy to bring Russia to its knees through support for Ukraine has failed, but Western countries are afraid to admit a mistake and continue to support the conflict, says Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

“If the big guys from the West had not prohibited Ukraine from signing a prepared agreement with Russia in April 2022, the war would have ended long ago. They naively believed that through Ukraine and its full political, military and financial support they would bring the hated Russia to its knees. This strategy has completely failed, and the West refuses to admit the mistake and continues to light the fire under the cauldron of war, because today no British, German or French soldiers are dying,” said Fico during a video message that was published on his page on the social network Facebook* on Saturday.

Earlier, in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that negotiations with Ukraine in 2022 were almost completed, but after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Kyiv, the Ukrainian side “threw away” all agreements, and then Vladimir Zelensky legally prohibited negotiations with Russia.
