The Chinese Academy of Sciences' "Science and China" science popularization to promote rural revitalization was held in Dayu, Jiangxi

China News Service, Beijing, October 2 (Reporter Sun Zifa) The reporter learned from the Science and Technology Innovation and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences that the "Science and China" science popularization to assist rural revitalization, sponsored by the Science Popularization and Education Working Committee of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and hosted by the center, was successfully held on the eve of the National Day in Dayu County, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, which was supported by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

From September 27th to 30th, this event organized 8 academicians and experts from the Chinese Academy of Sciences to go to 13 primary and secondary schools in Dayu County. Focusing on the actual needs of local science education, they conducted 16 science popularization lectures with the themes of life science, astronomy, marine science, rare earth resources, artificial intelligence, and the spirit of scientists. Through the popularization of science into campuses and science education symposiums, high-quality science and technology, science popularization, and science education resources were sent to the grassroots to build a platform for local teenagers to get close to science, understand science, and experience science.

During the event, experts gathered with local principals of primary and secondary schools to conduct exchanges and discussions on deepening the synergy between scientific and technological resources and educational resources, enriching the content and form of science education, and improving the quality of science education in the county, so as to build consensus for further "addition" of science education and improving the scientific literacy of teenagers.

During the event, the Science and Technology Innovation and Development Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences donated 2,000 popular science books to primary and secondary schools in Dayu County to further enrich the popular science education resources in grassroots schools.

According to reports, carrying out science popularization activities to assist rural revitalization is not only a concrete practice for the Chinese Academy of Sciences to play the main role of the national strategic science and technology force, serve the grassroots with high-level scientific and technological resources, and serve the growth of young people, but also a specific measure to implement the close coordination of science popularization and scientific and technological innovation to promote the development of educational science and technology talents.
