Lunevskaya school in Khimki opened after major renovations for Knowledge Day

MOSCOW, September 1 - RIA Novosti. The Lunevskaya school in Khimki opened its doors after major renovations on Tuesday, the press service of the city district administration reports.

The solemn assembly dedicated to the Day of Knowledge was attended by the head of the city district Inna Fedotova, State Duma deputies Denis Kravchenko and Irina Rodnina, as well as Olympic boxing champion Alexander Lebzyak.

Fedotova congratulated students, teachers and parents on the start of the new school year and noted that the renovated school will become a place where children will be comfortable studying and teachers will be able to work.

“Congratulations to students, parents and teachers on Knowledge Day. May the new school year be kind, strong and successful!” – Fedotova emphasized, her words are quoted by the press service.

A major renovation of the building with an area of ​​more than 8.5 thousand square meters has been going on since 2025. During this time, the builders completely updated the facade, roof and utility networks, replaced windows, doors, plumbing and heating. Inside the school there are modern laboratories, project and recreational spaces, updated sports and assembly halls, as well as a large dining room.

Corridors and recreation areas are now decorated with panels with images of iconic places in Khimki: the Serednikovo estate, the Khimki Bridge and the historical Patrikeev mansion. Thanks to this, the school has become not just a place for lessons, but also an interactive space where students get acquainted with the history of their native land.

Also on Knowledge Day, primary school students received a surprise from the regional governor Andrei Vorobyov. The kids got ice cream.
