Schoolchildren in grades 8-11 most often name doing what they love (56%), building a career (55%) and creating a happy family (46%) as their main life goals, Konstantin Abramov, General Director of the Foundation for the Promotion of Public Opinion Research, Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, said at EEF 2026.

“We asked our citizens: what would you like to achieve in life? High school students in grades 8-11 named doing what they love in first place - 56%, in second place - making a career - 55%, in third place - creating a happy family, raising children - 46%,” he said at the EEF-2026 session “A creative person. What should you become in order not to fall behind?”

In addition, according to survey data cited by Abramov, 45% of high school students would like to travel and visit different countries of the world, 42% would like to receive a quality education, 33% would like to become rich.

“Our youth want to self-realize through the work they love, doing what they love. Creative industries are one of those areas where, of course, if you don’t love what you do, you won’t be able to achieve something,” the expert noted.

He also said that the majority of schoolchildren aged 11-18 believe that a dream is one of the most important values ​​they have; family remains the main value for them, and friendship comes in second place.
