Germany has removed its stand and canceled all presentations at the European Languages Day festival in Moscow.

The representative office of the Austrian Institute in Moscow remained the only place where you can take the European-style German language exam after the steps of the German government.

MOSCOW, September 26 - RIA Novosti. Germany withdrew its stand from the European Languages ​​Day festival in Moscow and canceled all presentations of Germany, a RIA Novosti correspondent reports.

As the event organizers told the agency, the German side itself removed the stand from the festival program.

At the Austrian stand, the correspondent was told that after recent steps by the German government, the representative office of the Austrian Institute in Moscow remained “the only place” where one can take a European standard German language exam.

The Day of European Languages ​​is celebrated on September 26 at the initiative of the Council of Europe. The festival in Moscow takes place at the French Lycée Alexandre Dumas - it is organized by the Union of European Cultural Institutes (EUNIC) with the support of the EU Delegation to Russia.

On September 1, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful announced that Germany would close the Russian Consulate General in Bonn on September 18 and terminate the agreement concerning the activities of the Russian House in Berlin, the largest Russian cultural center in the country, which has been operating since 1984.
