The price of sockeye salmon caviar in Russia reached a record 29.9 thousand rubles

In the first ten days of this month, the price of sockeye salmon caviar in Russia reached a record 29.9 thousand rubles. This was reported by Interfax with reference to the fisheries information agency.

Chum salmon caviar sells for 17.2-26.9 thousand rubles, and pink salmon - 18.6-26.1 thousand. For coho salmon caviar, the corresponding figure was 18.9-21.2 thousand rubles per kilogram.

According to the head of the agency, Alexander Savelyev, since the beginning of the salmon season in the Far East, from May 20 to September 7, 2.6 thousand tons of red caviar have been put into circulation. By September 9, 94,449 tons of salmon were caught. From such volumes you can get no more than 3800 tons of caviar.

“And there is even less finished granular caviar after punching and cleaning,” he emphasized.
