The opening of the military police branch in Al-Hasakah after the agreement to merge the SDF with the Syrian state

This came as a continuation of the implementation of the merger agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The Syrian News Agency (SANA) reported that the Military Police Department opened its branch in Al-Hasakah Governorate, and its units began deploying and establishing their points within the city of Al-Hasakah, as part of its tasks to control security and enhance stability in the region.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian forces and the Syrian Democratic Forces reached a comprehensive agreement last January to integrate the civil and military institutions of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration in northeastern Syria and the city of Ain al-Arab “Kobani” within the institutions of the Syrian government, including the installation of civilian employees, settling the civil and educational rights of the Kurdish community, and ensuring the return of the displaced to their areas.

On August 25, SDF leader Mazloum Abdi announced the dissolution of the Syrian Democratic Forces and the complete integration of its military and civilian formations into the Syrian state institutions. He was subsequently appointed as an advisor to the Presidency of the Republic in the Syrian government.
