Continuing clashes in the city of Al-Sanamayn in Daraa countryside, following the killing of 3 security personnel

(CNN) - The city of Al-Sanamayn in the northern countryside of Daraa witnessed continuous clashes between Syrian Internal Security and groups described by the authorities as “outlaws,” following the killing of 3 members of the security forces during an operation to arrest a wanted person in the city, according to what the official Syrian Al-Ikhbariya channel reported Thursday.

The Syrian Internal Security carried out a security operation in the city to arrest one of the wanted men, but an armed group led by the same person opened fire on the patrol and clashed with its members, leading to the death of 3 of them.

The Internal Security Forces confirmed that they “continue their deployment in the city and pursue members of the group and those involved in the attack,” and indicated that the Internal Security Command in the governorate imposed “a temporary curfew in the city of Al-Sanamayn until the security situation stabilizes.”

An Al-Ikhbariya correspondent later reported that clashes were still continuing in the city between the Internal Security Forces and the armed group.
