The Xizhi Fire Brigade, originally built on Datong Road in Xizhi District, New Taipei City, has been in disrepair in recent years and often leaks. The number of disaster relief vehicles and equipment has become increasingly diverse, resulting in a serious shortage of office space. Considering that the original site can be quickly connected to three expressways and is extremely convenient for transportation, the New Taipei City Government decided to build a new office building at the original site of the Xizhi Detachment to be used by units such as the Special Search Team, the Sixth Battalion, and the Xizhi Detachment. It was finally completed today.

The New Taipei City Fire Department pointed out that No. 447, Section 2, Datong Road, Xizhi District, was originally the office of the Xizhi detachment. The Xizhi Police Station next to it had been rebuilt into a new office building many years ago. After considering that the original building was over 40 years old, it was decided to rebuild with the support of the city government.

The new office building has 7 floors above ground and 2 floors underground, with a total floor area of ​​1,989.8 square meters. It complies with smart green building standards such as energy conservation and carbon reduction, and takes into account work efficiency and safety. In addition to being able to accommodate large-scale modern disaster relief vehicles, an indoor gym and training platform are also built on the second floor, and a smart duty desk is built. When the team receives a 119 report, it can automatically send a dispatch order and link the team broadcast, garage sliding door and backup room lighting, so that firefighters can go to work 20 seconds earlier.

In addition, considering that the location is adjacent to three expressways and has extremely convenient transportation, the New Taipei City Fire Department's special search brigade was specially arranged to be stationed in order to comply with the characteristics of the special search brigade's cross-regional support services, improve disaster relief and rescue efficiency, and also provide a more comfortable preparation environment for firefighting colleagues.

New Taipei City Mayor Hou Youyi presided over the inauguration ceremony of the "Special Search Brigade, Sixth Brigade, Xizhi Detachment and Citizen Activity Center Joint Construction Project" today. Public opinion representatives from all walks of life and local gentry were invited to attend the ceremony. Including legislator Liao Xianxiang, city councilors Zhang Jinhao, Bai Peiru, Zhou Yaling and many district chiefs, as well as Chen Shouren, deputy captain of the New Taipei City Volunteer Fire Brigade, Huang Zongxiong, captain of the Sixth Brigade Volunteer Brigade, Lin Zhixian, chairman of the Shilin Branch of the Crime Victims Protection Association, local gentry Li Kunwang, etc.

Mayor Hou Youyi expressed his gratitude to all walks of life for their cooperation in promoting the implementation of various safety department buildings. In addition, the Xinwang Yimin Citizen Activity Center in Xizhi District is co-constructed with the fire department. Culture and art experts and scholars have been specially invited to integrate the appearance of the hall into the torii gate and historical features. In the future, it can be used as a club for senior citizens, various activities, citizens’ leisure and entertainment, and to cooperate with the promotion of municipal propaganda and decrees. It is hoped that after all firefighters are stationed in the new department building, they can further improve the effectiveness of disaster relief and provide better fire safety services through smoother attendance lines and ample training space.
