DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Shen Pao-yang recently accepted a radio interview hosted by Wang Wei-chung on BCC Pop Network. The episode went online yesterday (10th) and quickly surpassed 300,000 views. Wang praised Shen for having a rather smooth campaign and remarked that Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an is so busy with work he's "almost fainting." Outside observers also interpreted Shen's interview with Wang as a great way to break out of his "echo chamber." Shen Pao-yang stated that online views do not equate to votes, but he is glad to see everyone crossing political lines to jointly focus on Taipei's future development and municipal issues.

Interviewed while canvassing Linjiang Market this morning, Shen Pao-yang said that during the show, he actually asked Wang Wei-chung if he could come on again. This was because they had a very pleasant chat that day, which even continued after the recording ended. Shen explained that he has several policies regarding cultural trails, and since Wang is also a figure in the cultural sector, the two discussed a great deal about culture, music, and related topics. He really hopes to have the opportunity to visit again. Wang also offered many candid suggestions regarding both cultural and operational aspects, and Shen was very happy to receive these recommendations.

When asked by the media about the video view count exceeding 300,000—compared to Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an's view count from four years ago, which stands at 211,000 to date—and whether this serves as a good method to break out of the echo chamber, Shen Pao-yang noted that traffic does not necessarily translate into votes. However, traffic at least shows that people online currently care deeply about this issue. Regardless of where the audience comes from, it is clear to feel that it is not necessarily him breaking through, but rather that people broadly care about these types of topics, which makes him very glad.

As for Wang Wei-chung praising his campaign as running quite smoothly, Shen humbly remarked that Brother Wei-chung was just being polite, and likely said so because he found some of the political platforms Shen proposed interesting. He believes Wang probably sees the current municipal problems as well and likely wanted to serve as a reminder that these issues require attention. Shen strongly hopes that everyone, regardless of political stance, can come together to care about Taipei's development and how to solve the problems currently faced, believing this to be everyone's shared expectation.
