A fall accident was reported in Beitun District, Taichung! A man fell from a riverbank near Liuchuan and Dongguang First Liuchiao Bridge into a river channel approximately 3 meters deep around 6:00 AM today for unknown reasons. He sustained severe head trauma, leaving a large pool of blood at the scene. Firefighters and police dispatched to the scene rescued him using a hoisting system, but he was still pronounced dead after being sent to the hospital. Police have reported the case to the prosecutor of the Taichung District Prosecutors Office for an inquest to further clarify the cause of the fall and the circumstances of the incident.

The incident occurred near the intersection of Liuyang West Street and Qingdao Road in Beitun District. The 76-year-old man, surnamed Tsai, suspectedly fell from the riverbank railing and lay in the river channel with severe head injuries. A shocking large pool of blood was visible at the scene, and an umbrella was left nearby.

Upon receiving the report, police and firefighters rushed to the scene. Since the fall location was about 3 meters deep, they immediately set up rescue equipment. Emergency medical personnel climbed down into the river channel to assess his injuries before hoisting Mr. Tsai back up to the street level. At that time, he showed no signs of life and was immediately rushed to the hospital, but he could not be saved.

The Fifth Police Sub-division, which has jurisdiction over the area, dispatched officers to the scene upon receiving the report and notified forensic personnel to collect evidence. In addition to inspecting the spot where Mr. Tsai fell and the items left at the scene, evidence was also collected from the riverbank railing to determine whether Mr. Tsai accidentally slipped, fell due to a sudden physical illness, or if there were other reasons.
