Fabricated sales, beautified financial reports of 5 companies, helped defraud banks of 1 billion in loans, couple asked for 18 years in prison

The husband-and-wife team of Zhang Jiarong and Liang Lifen was involved in setting up multiple offices since 2013, leading or assisting five companies, including Yamulei, Yan Tu, Fengqun, Weiyu and Lanrui, to issue thousands of fake invoices and fabricate false sales. The amount amounted to NT$5 billion, creating the illusion of frequent business transactions and beautifying financial reports. He made fraudulent loans of more than NT$1 billion to seven banks including First Bank, Cooperative Bank, and Mega Bank, and evaded business tax amounting to NT$40 million. The New Taipei District Prosecutor's Office prosecuted seven people, including Zhang and Liang, for violating the Banking Law and the Criminal Code, including aggravated fraud, and requested that the couple each be sentenced to 18 years in prison.
