President Lee Jae-myung holds talks with the leaders of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on the second day of Central Asia relay summit diplomacy.

(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Seol Seung-eun = President Lee Jae-myung met with the leaders of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan on the 15th and continued the second day of 'relay summit diplomacy' with five Central Asian countries.

President Lee will welcome the leaders of both countries as state guests and proceed with official schedules such as summit meetings and lunches and dinners, Blue House Chief Spokesperson Kang Yu-jeong said in a written briefing.

First, President Lee plans to hold a summit meeting with President Serdar Berdymuhamedov on this day to exchange opinions extensively on overall pending issues, including ways to promote substantive cooperation between the two countries and the regional and international situation.

After the meeting, a total of 13 agreements and MOUs (memorandums of understanding) exchange ceremonies will be held between the two government ministries in the presence of the two leaders.

This will be followed by a state luncheon attended by about 50 people from all walks of life from both countries.

The luncheon table will feature authentic Korean food that takes into account President Berdymukhamedov's tastes and the harmony between the two countries' food cultures and ingredients.

President Lee plans to gift President Berdymuhamedov, who enjoys horseback riding, a 'Muyongchong hunting painting cloisonné frame' that reproduces the martial arts hunting painting using the cloisonné technique.

Afterwards, President Lee holds a summit meeting with Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and continues with a state dinner.

At the meeting, the two leaders plan to discuss in depth future cooperation tasks between the two countries, including economy and trade, energy and key minerals, AI (artificial intelligence), science and technology, and human and cultural exchanges.

In particular, with this meeting, the relationship between the two countries will be upgraded to a 'future-oriented comprehensive strategic partnership' for the first time in 17 years.

The Blue House expected that the two countries would be able to lay the foundation for more advanced strategic cooperation through cooperation across economic security, high-tech industry, and science and technology beyond the existing areas of trade and investment.

After the meeting, a total of 13 MOU exchange ceremonies between government ministries of the two countries will be held in the presence of the two leaders.

About 50 people from all walks of life from both countries will attend the state banquet that follows.

At the banquet, Korean food that reflects President Tokayev's tastes and the characteristics of Kazakhstan will be served.

Considering that President Tokayev's favorite sport is table tennis and that Kazakhstan will host the World Taekwondo Championships next year, President Lee prepared a premium table tennis racket with the flags of both countries and a Taekwondo uniform as a gift.

Meanwhile, at the official welcoming event held before the meeting with the leaders of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, the vehicles of each country's leaders are escorted by about 70 people, including the traditional honor guard and the Chwita Guard, from the entrance to the Blue House.

Chief Spokesperson Kang said that a grand welcome ceremony will be held, with a total of 280 people, including the three military honor guards, lined up and a 30-person children's welcome group, including 10 children from each country, greeting the leaders of the two countries.

As a courtesy to the leaders of the two countries who visited Korea as state guests, the government displayed the Korean national flag and the national flags of each country on the Lotte Tower media façade and the Seoul Government Complex outdoor electronic display board, and displayed welcome messages in Korean, Turkmen, Korean, and Kazakh.

Ahead of the Korea-Central Asia summit scheduled for the 16th, President Lee will hold bilateral summit meetings with the five countries participating in the meeting.

The day before, a summit meeting was held with Uzbekistan, and talks with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will continue on the 16th.
