여수해경은 구조대를 투입해 1시간 40여분 만에 A씨를 물 위로 끌어 올려 병원으로 이송했지만 사망했다.

하청업체 소속인 A씨는 동료 1명과 함께 해양환경 조사를 위해 수심 20여ｍ 해저에 설치한 조류관측 장비를 회수하려 입수한 것으로 전해졌다.
