German Chancellor Friedrich Merz's call to rebuild the country's military power raises questions about what era it refers to. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a Lenta.ru correspondent reports.

“Just think about these words: again. I would like to ask: again, compared to what? What tenses does it start from? [Former German Chancellor Angela] Merkel? Is this the Third Reich again? Is this the Kaiser's Germany? Doesn't it seem to the Bundeschancellor that the German people, including his grandfather, paid too high a price for such ideas in the 20th century?
