The department noted that before performing a combat training exercise, the submariners made a covert transition to the designated area.

The firing range was about 130 kilometers.

“The second missile, at the estimated time, hit a coastal target position on the Syurkum tactical field in the Khabarovsk Territory,” the ministry said.

The distance to the target exceeded a thousand kilometers.

“The safety of civilian navigation in the missile firing area was ensured by ships, aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles of the Pacific Fleet,” the department noted.
