The 16th China International Aerospace Expo (China Air Show) will be held in Zhuhai, Guangdong from December 7th to 13th.
The reporter learned at a press conference held in Beijing on October 13 that on the occasion of its 30th anniversary, the exhibition scale of this air show has been further expanded, the exhibitor equipment lineup has been updated, and there are many highlights worth looking forward to.
There are over 3,000 pieces of equipment on display, about 10% of which are “first exhibitions” and “first shows.”
At the press conference, Zhang Hu, member of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Executive Vice Governor, and Provincial Government Spokesperson, introduced that the indoor exhibition area of this air show is nearly 150,000 square meters, and the outdoor exhibition and support area has increased to 335,000 square meters. At present, more than 1,100 companies from nearly 50 countries and regions have participated in the exhibition, with more than 3,000 pieces of exhibiting equipment, and about 10% of the exhibits are "first exhibitions" or "first shows."
A batch of products representing the latest independent innovation achievements of China's aerospace and defense science and technology will be unveiled. For example, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation's new exhibits are expected to account for more than 70%. Exhibits such as CZ-10B and offshore network recovery device are all debuting. It will be the largest display of "one-heavy, one-heavy" rockets (heavy-duty launch and reusable rockets) at the air show.
China Aviation Development Corporation will exhibit nearly 90 types of aero engines, gas turbines, related test facilities, typical parts and components, advanced materials and other products, nearly half of which are making their public debut for the first time.
For the first time, China Electronics has demonstrated a series of star equipment, products, and solutions such as a full-area integrated communication system, a regional integrated electronic information system, heterogeneous drone swarm collaborative combat equipment, and AI-enabled deep network security products.
The maritime exhibition area is opened for the first time to statically display the navy’s active warships.
According to reports, in terms of exhibition area setting, this air show expanded the maritime dimension for the first time and innovatively adopted the "one exhibition and three areas" layout, namely the main exhibition area of the Zhuhai International Air Show Center, the Lianzhou unmanned equipment exhibition area, and the Gaolan Port maritime equipment exhibition area, forming a linkage display system for air, space, sea and land.
The Gaolan Port Maritime Equipment Exhibition Area is the first exhibition area of this air show. The Chinese Navy will rely on the nearly one kilometer coastline of Gaolan Port to build an immersive display position for maritime equipment, statically display active warships, and display amphibious armored vehicles and other equipment on land. CSSC will send a variety of water and land equipment, including new 500-ton unmanned ships, to participate in the exhibition.
Chinese Air Force's multi-type main battle equipment will debut for the first time
This year marks the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Air Force. Gao Xiang, deputy director of the Political Work Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, said that the Air Force adheres to a systematic exhibition approach at this year's air show and highlights the results of iterative upgrades of main battle equipment: there are not only mature main battle equipment that have withstood the test of practice, but also multi-type improved and upgraded equipment, and the results of new combat forces are publicly displayed.
Gao Xiang further pointed out that the equipment exhibited at this year's exhibition covers the fields of Air Force reconnaissance, early warning, air defense, support, airborne, unmanned applications, intelligent equipment and ammunition, and fully demonstrates the achievements of the Air Force's equipment upgrading and continuous improvement of the combat system. The flight performance closely followed the actual combat formation and set movements, intuitively demonstrating the training level and winning ability of the troops.
In addition, the Chinese Air Force will set up immersive projects such as cargo cabin experience and star equipment check-in, and organize face-to-face exchanges between the public and pilots, technical backbones, etc., to further shorten the emotional distance between the People's Air Force and the public.
The scale of participating aircraft reaches a new high and the flight performance is highly anticipated
More than 170 aircraft have been registered for exhibition in the main exhibition area of this year's air show, and the scale has reached a record high. The international exhibitor lineup is more extensive. Wu Zetong, director of the China Airshow Zhuhai Executive Committee and mayor of Zhuhai, said that pavilions from Russia, the United States, France, Germany and other countries have expanded their participation in the exhibition. Embraer and Russian Helicopters showed up with their star models, and top 100 global aviation companies such as Airbus, Boeing, and Leonardo actively participated in the exhibition, covering core aviation products such as complete aircraft, aviation power, avionics, and airborne systems.
In addition, in terms of aerobatic performances, the "Warrior" aerobatic team of the Russian Federation Aerospace Force has officially signed a contract, and the "Knights" aerobatic team of the United Arab Emirates Air Force will also be invited to participate in the "Blue Sky Ballet" jointly with the Chinese Air Force's Bayi Aerobatic Team. This is the second time since 2016 that two foreign military flight demonstration teams have participated in the China Air Show.
