[Reporter Ou Sumei/Taichung Report] The "Urology Diagnosis and Treatment Center and Prostate Cancer Minimally Invasive Treatment Center" of Fengyuan Hospital of the Ministry of Health and Welfare opened today! Integrating 7.5Fr flexible ureteroscope, Rezūm prostate water vapor ablation and high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy (HIFU, Haifu knife) and other technologies, it provides different treatment options for patients with urinary tract stones, benign prostate hypertrophy and some prostate cancers, further improving the urological diagnosis and treatment capabilities in Dashancheng area.

Lin Deqi, director of the Urology Department of Fengyuan Hospital, said that the 7.5Fr flexible ureteroscope can penetrate deep into the kidneys and ureters to treat stones, increasing the flexibility of treating stones in deeper areas or where traditional instruments are difficult to reach; Rezūm water vapor ablation uses water vapor thermal energy to act on proliferative prostate tissue, providing services that meet the conditions. It is a minimally invasive treatment option for patients with benign prostate hypertrophy; HIFU uses high-intensity focused ultrasound to perform local ablation of lesions, providing another option for prostate cancer patients who are suitable for local treatment after complete evaluation. Lin Deqi pointed out that the increase in minimally invasive treatment options does not mean that all patients are suitable for the same method. The real key is to first confirm the cause and then choose the right treatment. Take common frequent urination, nocturia, thin urine flow, unclear urination or difficulty in urination as examples.
