[Reporter Luo Zhipeng/Taipei Report] CITIC Brothers defeated the Cavaliers yesterday in G1 of the Taiwan Series. He served as the starting pitcher and gave up 3 runs in 7 innings. After the game, it was reported that his wife and children suffered malicious attacks on the Internet. Earlier today, CITIC Brothers issued a statement stating, " Yesterday, the Cavaliers and their family received death threats from a specific account on the Internet. The team immediately worked with the agency to fully assist the players, formally reported the case to the police, and took all necessary legal actions without mercy to protect the rights of the players and the reputation of the team."

The relevant statement from CITIC Brothers is as follows:

CITIC Brothers Football Club hereby solemnly issues a solemn statement in response to the malicious comments on social platforms that target the team’s players and their families, including personal attacks and safety threats.

Please read on...

The team has always respected fans and friends’ comments and supervision of the team’s performance, and also understands everyone’s enthusiasm and expectations for the outcome of the game. However, a certain account crossed the red line of rational comments and published inappropriate remarks that maliciously attacked and even threatened the personal safety of players and their families. Such behavior seriously violates good social customs and legal norms. The team immediately worked with the agency to fully assist the players, formally reported the case to the police station, and took all necessary legal actions without any leniency to safeguard the rights of the players and the reputation of the team.

CITIC Brothers Football Club would like to appeal again: rational supervision should never become an excuse for malicious bullying, and freedom of speech should never be equated with the privilege of harming others for no reason.

We accept the encouragement and criticism from fans and friends with an open mind and bear it in mind; however, CITIC Brothers will definitely pursue the matter to the end and will never tolerate malicious curses, personal attacks, or any bad behavior that intentionally harms players and damages the professional baseball environment.

Sincerely, CITIC Brothers Baseball Team
