As the ace of the Rays, Rasmussen played two games in the playoffs this year. Both games were the first games of the series. He pitched a total of 14 innings and posted a high-quality performance of 1 win and 1.29 ERA. Among them, in G1 of the American League Division Series against the Yankees, he allowed only 1 hit and 10 strikeouts in 8 innings, completely suppressing the Stripes' line.

In Game 1 of the American League Championship Series, Rasmussen pitched in 6 innings and allowed 8 hits, including two home runs, and 2 runs, which ultimately had no bearing on the outcome.

In Game 4 today, the Rays sent Freddy Peralta, the fireball man who started in Game 2, to the plate in the 6th inning. In the end, he pitched 0.2 innings with 9 pitches, resolving the crisis of losing runs at first and second base.

After the game, Rays head coach Kevin Cash said that if the game had not been postponed yesterday, Perlotta would have had the opportunity to pitch. Cash revealed that he told Perlotta that whenever there was a critical moment, such as today's 6-inning lead and 1-run lead, he would let Perlotta start from the bullpen.

As for Perlotta's performance today, Cash praised him for being very powerful and scoring important outs for the team.

The starting fireball man Perlotta relayed 0.2 innings today to help the Rays resolve the crisis. (AFP)
