The 37th Chuanyi Golden Melody Awards announced: Zhang Rigui and Wang Qingfang won special awards

The 37th Golden Melody Awards Ceremony was held today (22nd) evening at the Taiwan Opera Center Grand Performance Hall, where the winners of the special award and 19 awards were announced. The total number of applications this year reached 780, an increase of 150 from last year. Minister of Culture Li Yuan personally attended the ceremony to express his respect to traditional art workers and the judging team, and awarded special awards symbolizing lifelong achievements and special contributions to Manzhou folk folk artist Zhang Rigui and Luantan opera artist Wang Qingfang. He expressed his gratitude to the two artists for their profound influence on traditional art.

Li Jingfang, who won the "Best Vocalist Award" for "Singer Cao Qiqiao: Taiwan Jazz Opera Album", said emotionally that she usually sings Kudan, but she struggled a lot when she took on the role of the crazy and somewhat vulgar Cao Qiqiao. Fortunately, she gradually understood the inner dilemma of the character through the demonstrations of her team and teacher Wei Haimin. She mentioned that moving from Peking Opera to jazz singers was to jump out of another music world without traditional gongs and drums. The "Best Performance Award" was won by Wu Zhengyu, Kan Zhixian, Li Feiwen, Kan Xumo, You Shizhen, Jiang Jiahua, and Cai Jiaxuan for their "Dialogue and Fusion of Virtues - Taiwan, Ancient and Modern - European Ancient and Modern Instrumental Chamber Music". The award-winning representative gave a speech The lyrics point out that although the seven performers' majors are European classical music, as Taiwanese, northern and southern wind instruments and folk music are the DNA deep in their hearts. They will miss home when they study abroad and hear the music. They sincerely thank Taiwanese composers for their cooperation.

The "Best Music Design Award" was won by Zheng Rongxing and Zhong Jiyi of Rongxing Hakka Tea Picking Troupe "Xin Xin". Zhong Jiyi said that the most beautiful thing about opera is that it can respond to contemporary times while retaining its original appearance. Zheng Rongxing thanked all walks of life for their continued efforts in traditional arts.

The "Best Screenplay Award" was won by Yip Chi-wai of Yixing Court Theater Company's "Hero Making". He and Chen Xinhan were the presenters of the award, creating an interesting scene of "self-awarding and self-satisfaction". Ye Zhiwei said in his speech that revolution and drama will not be achieved at once, and continuous actions are needed. Taking the top batting average in the major leagues as an example, he encouraged everyone to continue to accumulate culture, and hoped that cultural workers would be more united to speak out for the environment.
