2026 Trendy Taipei × Trendy Seoul Cultural Exhibition: BLACKPINK’s behind-the-scenes curatorial team exhibits overseas for the first time

The second "2026 Trendy Taipei TRENDY TAIPEI" this year moved the Korean Wave stage behind the scenes directly to Taipei, launching the "Trendy Taipei × Trendy Seoul" cultural exhibition, which will be held for free at the Taipei Pop Music Center from September 4th to 13th.

The most eye-catching thing is that the curatorial team is YOUJAM STUDIO, which has long been responsible for the world tours of BLACKPINK, PSY, BIGBANG and other superstars. This is also the first time they have taken the exhibition overseas, and the first stop was Taipei.

Different from other K-POP exhibitions, this time it does not allow fans to look at photos of celebrities or check in and set up cards, but directly dismantles "how to create a world-class concert." From stage props, models, immersive video, sound art, to lighting, machinery and concert design concepts, all are displayed, allowing the audience to see the details behind the BLACKPINK level stage that are usually not noticed at all.

Curator Yoo Jae-heon revealed that the system behind large-scale concerts is even accurate to 0.01 seconds. Once any link between lighting, video, sound and stage machinery is out of sync, the live effect may be completely lost.

Interestingly, the real question this exhibition wants to ask is very "2026": AI can generate images, music and virtual worlds, why are people still willing to spend money to grab tickets, queue up, and squeeze into stadiums to watch concerts? Yoo Jae-hun believes that the answer is "a sense of presence." Low-frequency vibrations directly pass through the body, lasers and lights sweep across the skin, and tens of thousands of people scream and sing at the same time. This collective resonance is still difficult to completely replicate on the screen.
