Tainan City Tourism Bureau conducts water tourism safety education and training to improve the adaptability of operators

In order to protect tourists from experiencing Tainan's waters with peace of mind, the Nanshi Tourism Bureau invited operators of passenger boats and sightseeing rafts to conduct safety education and training. Six operators participated in the simulated scenarios to enhance the safety management and emergency response capabilities of front-line workers, and continue to improve the city's water tourism safety protection mechanism.

Mayor Huang Weizhe said that Tainan has unique water tourist attractions such as the Sicao Green Tunnel, Tainan Canal, Hutoupi Reservoir, Wushantou Reservoir, and Jianshanpi Reservoir. Every year, it attracts a large number of tourists to take boat rafts to experience Tainan's unique waterfront scenery. Through this education and training, we will continue to strengthen the risk prevention awareness of front-line operators, and improve their timely response and correct handling capabilities in the face of disasters, so as to jointly protect the safety of tourists, so that every passenger can board a boat with peace of mind, travel happily, and leave beautiful travel memories.

Lin Guohua, director of tourism and tourism, pointed out that the safety education training was conducted at Sicao Taijiang Terminal and Hutoupi Reservoir respectively. The courses included CPR and AED first aid practice, passengers accidentally falling into the water, ship accidental fire and casualty evacuation and notification process simulation drills, as well as practical courses such as life-saving equipment operation and passenger safety management. In addition, the city government also conducts regular inspections every quarter, supervises operators to implement raft safety inspections, life-saving equipment configuration, personnel training and emergency response mechanisms, and establishes a complete water safety protection network.

The Tourism Bureau reminds people to choose legal rafts when taking a boat, cooperate with the instructions of the captain and staff, abide by safety regulations, and do not stand, play or cross the safety zone while the raft is in progress to maintain their own safety. If you engage in water activities, you should understand the weather conditions in advance, pay attention to tides and changes in the water environment at all times, and evaluate your own physical condition and ability. Do not go to dangerous or prohibited water activities. Only by implementing safety concepts can you enjoy the rich charm of water tourism.
