Huang Guochang did not respond directly to the Blue and White issue in the Kinmen parliamentary election. Ouyang Yixiong made a humorous statement

Huang Guochang, chairman of the Taiwan People's Party, was asked today whether the Kinmen County assembly election was a blue-white election. He did not answer directly; instead, Ouyang Yixiong, the deputy speaker of the Kuomintang, supported the Crown Prince Shang Wenkai of the People's Party. He was silent during his speech and asked, "Why can't we cooperate?"

Huang Guochang, KMT legislator Liu Shubin, and party secretary-general Zhou Yuxiu went to the Dongmen Market in Jincheng Town, Kinmen early in the morning to recommend the "Kinmen Team" nominated by the KMT, including parliamentary candidates Shang Wenkai and Yang Peixuan, Jinning Rural Representative candidate Weng Minghui, and Jincheng Citizen Representative candidate Wang Songwei. They then held a rally at the Town God's Temple.

At the rally, Ouyang Yixiong, who has always been low-key, said that everyone must be curious, why is he standing here as a member of the Kuomintang? He said that Kinmen should be better and stop dividing parties; everyone knows that his wife Shang Wenkai is a county council candidate nominated by the People's Party. "I am from the Kuomintang and she is from the People's Party. We can both cooperate together. Why can't (Blue and White) cooperate, right?" There was laughter and applause at the scene. He also called on everyone to support the candidates nominated by the People's Party for parliamentarians and representatives.

Huang Guochang was later asked by the media whether there was a blue-white compliance plan at the parliamentary level. He did not answer directly. However, he had mentioned the cooperation between the People's Party and the Kuomintang at the rally earlier. He was inspired by Ouyang Yixiong's speech and thought it was the most humorous and touching sentence he heard on this occasion.

Huang Guochang said that Ouyang Yixiong and Shang Wenkai belong to different political parties, but get along very well with each other and work hard together for Kinmen; he believes that regardless of party affiliation, working together to seek better benefits for the land of Kinmen and all Kinmen folks is the only task and purpose of engaging in political work in Kinmen.

Regarding what Shi Zhaomin, the KMT candidate for mayor of Jincheng City, said on stage, "We are here to join forces with Blue and White," Huang Guochang said that Shi Zhaomin mentioned the cooperation between the People's Party and the Kuomintang. He said that whatever the People's Party can work hard to achieve, it will go all out. The style of the Taiwan People's Party is that "we will definitely do what we promised."

Huang Guochang wore ribbons and awarded battle flags to Shang Wenkai, Yang Peixuan and Wang Songwei. Weng Minghui was unable to attend due to other scheduled schedules, but he is still an important member of the "Kinmen Team". The People's Party said that the four candidates come from different generations, backgrounds and professional fields, and their common goal is to go into the local area, listen to public opinions, and strive for more construction and welfare for the villagers.
