A car caught fire in the underground parking lot of a community in Xitun District, Taichung. A female security guard was slightly injured after putting out the fire and was sent to the hospital for minor injuries.

In a 22-story community building in Section 3, Taiwan Avenue, Xitun District, Taichung, at close to 10 o'clock this morning, a parked car suddenly caught fire in the underground parking lot on the fifth floor. The scene was filled with thick smoke. A 24-year-old female security guard found out that she quickly put out the fire and Upon receiving the report, the Taichung City Fire Department dispatched more than 30 firefighters to the scene and immediately evacuated the residents upstairs. The fire was extinguished in less than 40 minutes. Fortunately, only the female security guard was slightly injured and was sent to the hospital. The detailed cause of the fire will be clarified by fire dispatch personnel.

The Taichung City Fire Department received a report at 9:53 this morning that there was a car fire in the underground parking lot of a community in Section 3 of Taiwan Avenue in Xitun District. It immediately dispatched 8 units including the Liming Squadron, 15 fire trucks of various types, and 36 firefighters to the scene for rescue.

When firefighters arrived, they found a community building with 22 floors above ground and 5 floors underground. A car was on fire in the underground parking lot on the 5th floor. The scene was filled with thick smoke. They immediately deployed water lines to rescue the building and used the building's broadcast to remind residents not to go to the underground parking lot.

With the help of firefighters, the fire was brought under control and immediately extinguished at 10:26. A 24-year-old female from the community was rescued at the scene. She was injured due to inhalation of some thick smoke when initially putting out the fire after discovering the car was on fire. Fortunately, she was conscious and was given first aid and sent to the hospital. The cause of the fire will be identified by fire dispatch personnel.
