Vladimir Putin submitted for ratification to the State Duma an agreement on the fundamentals of relations between the Russian Federation and Burkina Faso.

The agreement is aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

The document provides for respect and protection of the national interests of both countries, as well as compliance with the principles of international law and the UN Charter.

MOSCOW, September 28 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted an agreement on the fundamentals of relations between the Russian Federation and Burkina Faso to the State Duma for ratification; the document is available in the Duma electronic database.

“The draft federal law proposes to ratify the agreement on the fundamentals of relations between the Russian Federation and Burkina Faso, signed in Moscow on February 12, 2026,” the explanatory note says.

It is noted that the agreement is aimed at developing mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

In addition, the document stipulates that Russia and Burkina Faso develop relations on the basis of respect and protection of their national interests, as well as generally recognized principles and norms of international law and in accordance with the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.
