Elections to the State Duma of the ninth convocation were held in Russia from September 18 to 20. Representatives of five political parties were elected to the new convocation: United Russia, Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Liberal Democratic Party of Russia, New People and A Just Russia, as well as a representative of the Rodina party and four self-nominated candidates.

“As a result of the elections, United Russia has strengthened its leadership, which means that responsibility for the course, for the dynamics of the legislative process, for the overall result will become even greater,” Putin said during a meeting with the leadership of political parties.

The head of state expressed confidence that the party will build partnerships with other factions in the State Duma.
