Fire at a pyrotechnics factory in the Yaroslavl Oblast - at least 13 deaths

The pyrotechnics factory is located near the city of Pereslav Zaleski in the Yaroslavl Oblast in western Russia.

The TASS agency reports that at least 13 people died in the fire (previously the number was 10). However, the death toll may increase, as 7 people are missing.

It is known that two buildings were on fire. More than 100 firefighters and 40 fire-fighting vehicles were involved in the firefighting operation.

Governor of the Yaroslavl Oblast, Mikhail Yevrayev, said that children and staff from nearby facilities were evacuated for safety reasons. A crisis team has been established, and local authorities are discussing the possibility of introducing a state of emergency.
