Four fishermen were attacked by long waves and fell into the sea at Yongan Fishing Port in Taoyuan City early this morning (6th)! After the personnel on duty at the Yong'an Security Inspection Station of the Eighth Coast Patrol Team of the Northern Branch of the Coast Guard received reports from the public that anglers fell into the sea, they immediately dispatched online patrol and backup personnel to assist. At about 4 o'clock this morning, many anglers were fishing on the coast of the North Embankment of Yong'an Fishing Port. Unexpectedly, a long wave hit. A total of four anglers, one female and three male, were unable to dodge and were swept into the sea. The surrounding anglers were alarmed and ran away quickly. The situation was once very critical.

When fire fighters, coast patrol personnel and police arrived after receiving the report, the four fishermen who fell into the sea had been pulled ashore. Some people left first, while others said they were not injured and did not need to be sent to the hospital. The fishing gear placed on the shore was also swept into the sea by the long waves.

Witnesses pointed out that they saw a fisherman being attacked by a long wave and falling into the sea. They immediately notified the coast guard. When the coast guard arrived, the person at the scene said that no one fell into the sea, but that their equipment was washed away by the waves. Some people even left the scene one after another. However, he recorded footage of the fall into the sea and provided it to the coast. The patrol officer checked and confirmed that someone had indeed fallen into the sea. Only then did someone admit that someone had fallen into the sea. He believed that falling into the sea was not shameful. No one would be willing to do so in an emergency, but they should not conceal or provide false information, because as long as one less person is identified, a life may be lost.

After an accident involving a fisherman being swept out to sea by a long wave, many fishermen in the nearby area continued to fish on the shore. The Eighth Coast Patrol Team of the Northern Division also called on people to avoid going fishing or engaging in other water-related activities in recent days due to poor weather and walrus conditions and strong winds and waves on the shore and port areas to protect their own safety.
