The Yongan Wetland Multifunctional Activity Center is located in Wushulin, Yongan District. It is located within the Yongan Wetland. The new construction office of the Kaohsiung City Public Works Bureau has officially started construction recently. The total cost is about 476.15 million yuan. It was promoted by feedback from the Taipower Xingda Power Plant’s gas unit renewal and reconstruction project.
The New Construction Office pointed out that the project base covers an area of about 1.5 hectares. Two above-ground 2-story composite green energy buildings will be built in the east and west, integrating functions such as childcare, care, leisure, community activities and cultural exhibitions to create a new landmark of public services shared by all ages. The building adopts a large curved roof and an inward curved volume, with natural ventilation corridors, making good use of sea and land breezes to reduce building energy consumption. The ground floor of the building adopts an elevated design and retains the water level adjustment function of the existing flood detention pond, taking into account flood prevention and environmental friendliness.
The New Construction Office stated that the indoor space of the Yongan Wetland Multi-functional Activity Center will be planned for babysitting, community activities, fitness and leisure functions, etc. It will also set up special exhibition halls and shops for people of different ages to use. It is expected to be completed in November 2020. During the construction period, measures such as site environmental management and noise suppression will be implemented, and relevant ecological protection will be implemented to reduce the impact of construction on the surrounding environment.
