In the past 10 years, the proportion of residential transactions in Taipei City below 10 million yuan has dropped to 9.2%, and 20 million to 40 million yuan has become the main total price range; in New Taipei City, the main price range has shifted from below 10 million yuan to 10 million to 20 million yuan, reflecting the rise in housing prices and structural changes in home purchase choices in both north and south.

The three-year anniversary of the Jitai Dazhi collapse accident has occurred. Two nearby public office renovation projects have successfully attracted investment and are expected to create a value of more than 22 billion yuan. On the other hand, the reconstruction case of 25 severely affected households in cooperation with Jitai has been severely hampered due to repeated delays in reviewing supplementary documents and technical disputes, and the reconstruction timetable is far away.

The Taipei City Land Affairs Bureau announced the actual price registration data in June 2026. The number of transactions in the city was 524, with a total amount of 20.346 billion yuan. Affected by the high housing prices in Shuangtai City, home buyers with limited budgets have expanded to Taoyuan and surrounding counties and cities in New Taipei City to purchase properties. Statistics from Yongqing Real Estate Group show that among the top five administrative districts in North Taoyuan with the highest population growth in the past year, Taoyuan City's Grand Park has the highest growth rate of 2.9%, followed by New Taipei City's Tamsui District at about 1.7%, and Taoyuan City's Guanyin District and Guishan District tied for third. Industry players pointed out that the park has benefited from the development of Taoyuan Airport City and transportation construction. The average total price of Guanyin District is about 7.63 million, which has the advantage of being close to the people. Guishan District is close to the two north and has industrial and transportation advantages. The housing prices in Tamsui District are even lower than some Taoyuan areas. Linkou District has a population growth driven by the airport rapid transit and commercial development.

Earthquakes are frequent in Taiwan, and Taichung's super-high-rise residential and large-scale construction projects are advancing. Builders have invested in seismic design, structural external audits, and construction quality, and introduced high-strength steel bars, earthquake-control equipment, and high-toughness structural construction methods. Residential safety considerations have extended from compliance with regulations to structural design, material selection, and construction management.

There are 5.8843 million houses in the country that are over 30 years old, and only 679,000 new houses have been built in the past five years. The ratio of old houses to new houses is as high as 8.67:1. Experts point out that the main reasons are the huge stock of old houses, slow demolition and reconstruction, and lack of renovation concepts. The proportion of new houses in Taoyuan City is as high as 11%, while in Taipei City it is only 3.56%.
