[Special Correspondent Wu Mengru/Nagoya Report] The Taekwondo sparring event of the Nagoya Asian Games debuted today. Wang Weijia successfully advanced to the top four in the women's 67kg category, guaranteeing a bronze medal. As for the 17-year-old "taekwondo sweetheart" Wang Jieling, who was regarded as a medal hope, she lost 1:2 to Filipino female player Tachiana Mangin in the women's 49kg category and was upset in the top 8.

Wang Jieling just left the youth group this year to advance to the adult level. In May, she won the gold medal in the 46kg category at the Asian Championships. Now she has upgraded to the 49kg category in the Asian Games. At the end of last month, she won the silver medal at the World Women's Taekwondo Open Championship, showing her impressive strength. She defeated Bahrain's Fatima Kalawadh 2:0 in the first round today, but she was judged to have lost in the fierce battle against Manjin in 3 games, which made her sad and shed tears.

As for Wang Weijia, she defeated Tokyo Olympics taekwondo bronze medalist and Hangzhou Asian Games silver medalist Luo Jialing in the domestic Asian Games national selection. Her performance in this Asian Games was given high expectations. She defeated Chen Thi Yingsuet in straight games in the first round. Then she defeated China's Xing Jiani 2:1 in the quarterfinals and successfully advanced to the top four. Since there was no other bronze medal match, she got a guaranteed bronze medal. Next, she will face Iran's Saghar Moradi. Sheikhlar for a ticket to the gold medal match.
