The Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the European Union stated that Brussels’ unfriendly steps towards Russia will not go unanswered.

The diplomatic mission noted that the adoption of sanctions by EU member states was the result of serious internal worries and disagreements.

BRUSSELS, September 23 – RIA Novosti. Brussels’ unfriendly steps towards Russia will not go unanswered, the Russian Permanent Mission to the European Union said in connection with the extension of personal sanctions against Russians.

“All relevant efforts of the EU members are a waste of time and effort. For our part, we declare that any unfriendly actions towards Russia will not go unanswered,” the permanent mission said in a commentary.

As stated in the diplomatic mission, media discussions of the updated sanctions showed that their adoption was clearly not easy for the member states and was the result of serious internal worries and disagreements.
