Accident at a level crossing in the Vladimir region: the truck driver died, train traffic was restored along one track

In the Vladimir region, a truck driver drove onto the tracks in front of an approaching electric train, resulting in an accident.

Train traffic on the Belkovo-Kirzhach section was suspended, but then opened along one track in reverse mode.

Restoration work at the accident site continues.

MOSCOW, September 6 - RIA Novosti. Traffic on a stretch in the Vladimir region after an accident at a crossing is open on one track, reports the Moscow Railway (Moscow Railway, a branch of Russian Railways).

According to the Ministry of Railways, at 10.20 Moscow time on Sunday in the Vladimir region, a truck driver drove onto the tracks in front of the approaching Alexandrov-1 - Orekhovo-Zuevo electric train. The driver applied emergency braking, but a collision could not be avoided. The driver of the car died. There were no injuries among the passengers of the train or the locomotive crew. Train traffic on the Belkovo–Kirzhach section was suspended.

“About the movement of trains on the Belkovo – Kirzhach section in the Vladimir region. Railway workers opened traffic on one track on the Belkovo – Kirzhach BMO section. Currently, trains on the section run on one track in reverse mode,” says a message on the company’s Telegram channel.
