Taiwan Railway's 438th New Ziqiang train hit Houtong and woman fell off the track, the injured were sent to the hospital for emergency treatment

The 438th Type 300 Xin Ziqiang train from Yilan to Taipei was traveling near Houtong Station in New Taipei City at 7:07 pm today (10th) when it hit a 60-year-old woman surnamed Gao who fell off the track. The police and firefighters rushed Gao Fu to Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for emergency treatment.

Police and firefighters pointed out that when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found that Gao Fu had been injured in many parts of her body. Fortunately, she was still slightly conscious. After emergency treatment by firefighters, she was rushed to Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital at 7:36 p.m.

Affected by this accident, the Taiwan Railways has temporarily maintained single-track, two-way traffic between Houtong and Sandiaoling since 7:07 p.m., resulting in varying degrees of delays for up and down trains on the Eastern Main Line. Preliminary police investigation revealed that Gao Fu fell off the track 200 meters outside Houtong Station. As for the reason why Gao Fu entered the track, it remains to be investigated and clarified. After the accident, police officers from the Ruifang Railway Police Station of the Taipei Branch of the Railway Police completed on-site surveying and mapping at 8:01, and the Taiwan Railways No. 438 New Ziqiang Train left at 8:36.
