According to the office of Rep. Jeong Tae-ho of the Democratic Party of Korea, a member of the National Assembly's Finance and Economic Planning Committee, on the 24th, this content was included in the National Tax Service's 'Information Strategy Plan (ISP) Establishment Report for National Tax Administration AI Conversion and Tax Platform Response Plan'.

As problems such as computer load during the comprehensive income tax reporting period have arisen due to large-scale searches of home tax information on private tax platforms, the idea of ​​the National Tax Service providing the necessary data through a standardized 'application program interface' (API) and charging a usage fee has been consistently discussed.

API is a connection method that allows different systems to exchange data or functions.

The report presented two methods for national tax API charging: the 'minimum charging system' and the 'preservation charging system'.

The minimum charging system is a method of charging a registration fee of 500,000 won per month or 5 million won per year from a private tax platform and using National Tax Service information through API. If the platform requests data that is not provided through the existing API, the cost of separate software development, etc. is charged as a 'specific data processing fee'.

In the conservation charging system, in addition to a registration fee of 1 million won per month or 10 million won per year and a specific data processing fee, a fee of 9 to 77 won per case is charged depending on the volume of API calls.

77 won is an amount calculated based on 100% of the project cost of establishing a national tax API platform.

The estimated number of annual API calls for private platforms calculated in the report is 58,024,400, and if a fee of 77 won is applied per call, it is possible to collect about 4,467,870,000 won per year, or 44,678,780,000 won over 10 years.

Rep. Jeong Tae-ho said, "We need to minimize the basic burden of use of the national tax API to encourage private use, but establish reasonable cost burden standards for excessive use that causes additional costs."
