A signboard for a laundry on Fengjia Road in Pingtung fell and hit a female rider, who was injured and sent to hospital.

A laundry shop on Fengjia Road in Pingtung City suddenly lost its entire signboard at 9:30 this morning. A female motorcycle rider in her 50s named Ye who was passing by was directly hit by the signboard. The motorcycle and the person fell to the ground. The fire station was reported and sent the female rider with chest and back pain to the hospital for treatment. A total of three motorcycles were damaged at the scene. The police have notified the store and the owner of the house to deal with it.

The Pingtung County Fire Department stated that the female motorcycle rider surnamed Ye happened to be passing through Fengjia Road when the sign fell. She was hit by the fallen gate sign on the spot. Fortunately, the signboards were mostly made of wood. The female rider surnamed Ye and the motorcycle fell to the ground on the spot. After the firefighters arrived, the female rider reported chest and back pain, but she was conscious and was no longer serious after being sent to the hospital for treatment.

Officers from the Pingtung Police Station received the report and went to deal with it. They found that the sign had fallen and hit three motorcycles on site, injuring one person. The fallen sign had been cleaned up by the owner of the house, and traffic was quickly restored at the scene. The traffic accident handling team has clarified the responsibility for the whole case.

The police also remind all shop owners and house owners to check their exterior signboards regularly to avoid danger from falling.
