Burnazyan Center specialists began performing operations outside the patient’s body

Over the past two years, specialists at the Burnazyan Center have begun to perform a new type of surgery, in which the patient’s organs are removed from the body, said Veronika Skvortsova, head of the FMBA.

A gala event is being held in Moscow dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the founding of one of the leading centers of the FMBA of Russia - the Federal Medical Biophysical Center named after A.I. Burnazyan.

“Literally over the last two years, a new direction has been developed at the Burnazyan center, when organs operate outside the human body,” Skvortsova said, answering a question from RIA Novosti about what technologies for the treatment and recovery of SVO participants have been introduced into the agency’s work.
