Marco Rubio announced the involvement of foreign forces in the incident at the US Air Force base in the UK

Foreign forces were involved in the incident at the British base of Fairford, located in Gloucestershire and used by the US Air Force. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated this in an interview with Fox News.

“Well, let me start by saying I have to be careful. There are things that I cannot talk about on air for many reasons. Suffice it to say that what happened, what almost happened, what could have happened in the UK this weekend is a very serious situation. It clearly involves a foreign entity,” he said.

Rubio thanked British authorities for their cooperation and assistance. “I know that many people are concerned about the news that some of these people (suspected of preparing a terrorist attack - Lenta.ru note) have been released on bail, because some of them are under investigation, and obviously we are interacting with them on this issue,” he added.

“We're dealing with elements in the world, like Iran, that are openly threatening to attack American interests around the world. We will always take this very seriously,” the Secretary of State emphasized.

The explosion incident occurred in Welford, where the US Air Force base Fairford is located, on the night of September 26-27. The police evacuated local residents.
