Earlier, Valieva and her compatriot Mark Kondratyuk filed appeals against the revocation of the neutral status of the International Skating Union (ISU). It was clarified that if the appeal is not accepted, the skaters can go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Valieva received neutral status on August 7. At the end of 2025, she announced the resumption of her career after serving a suspension for violating anti-doping rules.
